Hofstra University has awarded tenure and/or promotion to 21 faculty members, including two from the Frank G. Zarb School of Business; five from the Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (HCLAS) Peter S. Kalikow School of Government, Public Policy and International Affairs; four from the HCLAS School of Humanities, Fine and Performing Arts; three from the HCLAS School of Education; two from the HCLAS School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics; two from the School of Health Professions and Human Services; two from the Lawrence Herbert School of Communication; and one from the Joan and Donald E. Axinn Library. The University has also appointed four faculty to distinguished professorships in the Frank G. Zarb School of Business, and has reappointed seven faculty to distinguished professorships: four in the Frank G. Zarb School of Business and three in the Maurice A. Deane School of Law. “Hofstra University is proud of the accomplishments of the faculty who have achieved tenure and promotion this year,” said Dr. Gail M. Ling Huang, in the Department of Chemistry, was granted tenure and promoted to the rank of Associate Professor. Daisy Miller, in the Department of Writing Studies and Composition, was granted tenure and promoted to the rank of Associate Professor. Jeffrey Morosoff, in the Department of Journalism, Media Studies, and Public Relations, was granted tenure and promoted to the rank of Associate Professor. Santiago Slabodsky, in the Department of Religion, was granted tenure and promoted to the rank of Associate Professor. Promotions effective September 1, 2016 María-José Anastasio, in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, was promoted to the rank of Professor. Elfreda Blue, in the Department of Specialized Programs in Education, was promoted to the rank of Professor. Timothy Daniels, in the Department of Anthropology, was promoted to the rank of Professor.
